The Park, Recreation, & Forestry Commission shall consist of two alderpersons, appointed annually by the Mayor, one, who shall be designated Chairman, subject to confirmation by the Common Council, and up to three citizens, appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by the Common Council, said citizens to have staggered terms of two years each. The Park, Recreation, & Forestry Commission shall be responsible for the following:
1. Formulating recreation programs for the residents of the City and supervising the Recreation Program Directors in carrying out the duties given to him/her.
2. Make rules and regulations as it deems advisable for care, maintenance, and improvement of the City parks.
3. Other duties as outlined in Section 6.11 of the municipal code.
Monthly meetings are usually held the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers. See the calendar for exact dates.
